The Clubhouse


From the team behind Milk & Honey in London and New York, Match Bar & Grill in Melbourne and Match Bar Ibiza, The Clubhouse has developed into one of the town’s hottest venues. The menu of modern European classics changes throughout the week - Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday you can choose from some of the best food in town and a three course a la carte menu for only 30e. Wednesday is the brand new Pop Quiz, served up with a weekly classic menu (think bangers and mash or shepherds pie) and Thursday is the hugely popular 25e Snow BBQ. From 4pm on a Sunday you can sample the infamous Clubhouse roast (inc dessert and coffee for only 25e). The cosy dining room shares space with the superb lounge bar serving the best cocktails and the finest selection of whisky you’ll find in the Alps. If you’re not a member, you can usually get in for a one-off visit to decide whether you’d like to join.

Tigre Tigre


Located near the train station, this establishment encompasses fun, style, top service and great hospitality. The bar offers a wide range of excellent cocktails, shots, and an array of imported beers. The restaurant’s cuisine ably demonstrates the varied styles and tastes of India. If you are unsure, then simply ask the waiting staff who can help select a dish that best suits your taste. A take away service is also available. Open from 5pm daily for après ski and earlier at weeknds to show live sporting events. Booking is advisable to avoid disappointment.

 

La Bergerie


The Bergerie is renowned for the authenticity of the food they serve. The emphasis is placed on recreating the charm and feel of a mountain chalet, down to the wooden interior and central fireplace. The chef has chosen a menu full of new and classical local specialities. Try his home made foie gras, or his roast lamb wrapped in a delicious pastry. Their speciality is grilled meats which are cooked to perfection, in front of you on the open hearth.

Le Chaudron


Easily identifiable by the caldron, which hangs above the door, this gem of a restaurant, which is sited in the Fromer’s guide, sits near the start of the Rue des Moulins. Its cosy interior and rustic décor combine to give an overall feeling of intimacy, which is enhanced by the friendly welcome from the Oserberger family. Stephane’s menu offers a creative interpretation of traditional Savoyard dishes and classic French gourmet cuisine, with an impressive wine list as well.

 

Neapolis


Situated in the Galerie Alpina, this restaurant is recommended by Lonely Planet and the Guide du Routard to all fans of Italian cuisine. It specialises in Neopolitan food, lovingly prepared by Enrico, Roberto and Salvio. Peparoni Arrosto (sweet red peppers), bruschetta with marinated anchovies, calamari en barca, followed by spaghetti aux fruits de mer and gnocchi alla sorrentina are just some of his specialities. Not forgetting over twenty varieties of pizza, and for dessert... the infamous tiramisu or panacotta. Expect a warm welcome from Christine and Gwendoline.

 

The “L’M” Brasserie


Named after the curious ‘M’ shaped peak in the Mont-Blanc massif, this Tapas bar, brasserie and renowned après ski venue is easily recognized by its flaming torches which are lit on the terrace each evening. Inside the decor is welcoming and cosy, and outside the large south facing terrace gives amazing views of the Mont-Blanc massif. The Brasserie offers down to earth cuisine which flirts with hints of gastronomy, without taking itself too seriously, whilst its younger sibling, tapas bar, serves all manner of delicious dishes, which are sure to satisfy the most demanding palettes without leaving you feeling too full. After a day on the slopes enjoy a drink with friends on the terrace of the “L’M” brasserie, from 3-7pm. A huge choice of beers, mulled wine & hot chocolates are available.

 

La Taverne de Chamouny


It is easy to see why this is one of Chamonix’s most popular restaurants. Not only do you get a choice of every conceivable local speciality that we all love to savour so much whilst in the Alps, it is also renowned for the abundant choice of seafood platters and specialities on offer, including oysters, lobster, mussels, and many more, all freshly delivered, and especially selected and prepared by the ‘Maitre écailler’. Situated in the heart of Chamonix centre, La Taverne ably demonstrates all the culinary finesse we associate with French cooking, and is a great place to enjoy a meal out with friends or family.

 

Chez Yang


Tired of meat, cheese and potatoes? Visit Chez Yang for a real taste of the Orient. All your favourite dishes are served, but the difference here is that the chef and his team are all from China, so the food has that authentically delicious taste, that others can only aspire to copy. You’ll find Chez Yang near the start of the Rue Paccard.

 

Oujda


This pizzeria, snack bar and kebab shop is open all day from 10am until 2am. There are all manner of hot and cold sandwiches, fresh pasta, kebabs, and various salads, which you can eat in or take away. The chef Tani has also been making mouth-watering pizzas for over 27 years.His wife, Salima will offer you a smile and a warm welcome throughout the day, whether it‚s just for a coffee, a snack, lunch or dinner.

 

Corre El Tiempo


Arribas Muchachos, mozy on down to Marghereita-ville (well the rue du lyret actually) to discover yet another new addition to the huge array of culinary options available in town. This restaurant is open for lunch and dinner and serves hearty Tex Mex food, and lots of it. Steaks, giant hamburgers, tacos, burritos, fajitas, and a range of chilis to heat you up when it’s oh so cold outside. And to keep your holiday spirits up, try their large selection of tequilas, rhums, cocktails and beers. Enjoy!

L'Atmosphere


One can always tell the quality of a restaurant by its popularity, and amongst many locals this is like a second home. Situated in Place Balmat, the restaurant which was completely renovated last season, is open for lunch, and offers two sittings in the evening. Book to avoid disappointment, especially if you want to sit on the indoor covered terrace. Consistently excellent, the food deliciously unites French gastronomy with the simplicity of Savoyard cuisine. The wine cellar is equally worthy of mention, with over 300 different wines.

Le Hameau Albert 1er


Gourmet cuisine, or traditional dishes, Le Hameau Albert 1er welcomes you to its 2 restaurants, each with their own style. The gastronomic restaurant is one of the finest in the region. The two chefs, Pierre Carrier and Pierre Maillet will take you on a culinary journey, where subtle flavours and fresh delicacies combine with mouth watering effect. The menu changes according to the season, to make way for delightful treasures such as White ‘Alba’ Truffles. The wine cellar too is exceptional, with a choice of over 20,000 bottles.

La Maison Carrier
Also excellent, but less exclusive, the Maison Carrier offers authentic local cuisine, in a traditional, rebuilt Chamoniard style chalet. The food is prepared and served with much the same panache as its renowned neighbour, and offers a delicious modern day interpretation of dishes and recipes that have been enjoyed in the region for centuries.

 

La Calèche


Few establishments that can lay claim to the description ‘Savoyarde restaurant’ with as much justification as La Calèche. As you enter this rustic treasure trove you cannot help but be overwhelmed by the warmth and character that pervades the restaurant. The walls are adorned with all manner of regional artefacts, and even the waiters are dressed in local costume. Their attention to detail is evident in the variety of over 20 Savoyard specialities on offer, all prepared from fresh local produce. In addition to the huge array of fondues, raclettes and pierrades, other firm favourites include the braised beef casserole, marinated in local red wine, the Diots de Savoie, or the Souris d’Agneau (lamb shank) prepared with honey and spices. The wine list is equally diverse. Well worth a visit!

La Cabane Des Praz


Situated in a wonderfully peaceful setting at the foot of the Flégère ski area, La Cabane des Praz offers excellent contemporary French cuisine in relaxed and welcoming surroundings. By day the sunny terrace offers magnificent views of the Mont Blanc chain, and for dinner you will find a huge choice of classy, yet affordable cuisine, with fresh fish, taking pride of place on the menu. The restaurant is open from midday until 23h00.

This renowned Italian restaurant has been delighting visitors for over 26 years. Their success is based on 3 key ingredients: fresh produce, professionalism, and a healthy dollop of passion.
