Lift System


Le Cornu : a new high-speed 6 person chairlift replaces the old 3 person lift, doubling the hourly lifting capacity to 2,700 people.
Le Prariond : the 4 person bubble in Les Houches has been replaced by an 8 person telecabine, increasing the hourly lifting capacity to 1,800 people.

Ski passes


There are now 3 types of pass:
Chamonix le Pass : Grands Montets + Flégère-Brévents + Balme
Mont-blanc Unlimited : Chamonix le Pass + Les Houches + Courmayer
4 hour pass: No more time constraints means you decide when it suits you best to ski.

The Montenvers Train Station


This landmark building is getting a complete facelift, to update the facilities and improve the whole experience of visiting the Mer de Glace.


New Snowpark


A Recreational Park with jumps, whoops and tables, a Boarder Cross circuit, and a Freestyle Park. Events already organised include the French snowboarding championships, Super Session, and Snowboard D Day.


Walkers Routes


A network of walkers paths have been created throughout the valley so that non-skiers can also experience the glorious scenery.


Shopping


Garbo & Neve : More temptation for followers of female fashions! This stylish new boutique is set on Avenue Ravanel le Rouge.

North Face : The renowned activity clothing brand opens its largest store in Europe in the centre of town.

Sanglard Sport : To make way for North Face, the Sanglard Sports shop has moved to completely renovated new premises on the Place du Mont Blanc.


Bars and Restaurants


No Escape : There is now more time to party, as Chamonix’s trendiest lounge bar and restaurant has extended its opening hours until 4am.

Tigre Tigre : Fans of Indian cuisine will be glad Chamonix now has its own authentic Curry House. The great choice of cocktails served will also curry favour with tourists and locals alike.

Le Vert : This new concept fuses comfortable, flexible and affordable accommodation with high quality cuisine and a great bar.

The Foo Bar : New ownership for the old Bushwacker brings a new lease of life to this bar and club located in the commercial gallery in Argentière.

La Cabane : Also under new ownership, the re-built Cabane has arisen like the phoenix from the ashes. This classy restaurant is open all day, and now offers a Tea Room service in the afternoon.

Restaurant Le Vista : For a bird’s eye view of Chamonix visit this brand new panoramic restaurant situated on the top floor of the Alpina hotel.

Le Cairn : Below the same hotel, a new nightclub will see the light of day (or rather night) when it opens its doors in March.

Le Flore : Another addition to Chamonix’s dining options on avenue de l’Aiguille du Midi, offers menus full of culinary Gallic flair.
