Ski Passes


The Cham’Ski lift-pass gives access to all the ski areas in the Chamonix Valley, with the exception of Les Houches.
The Mont-Blanc ski-pass is valid throughout the ski areas of the Mont-Blanc mountain range (includung Les Houches) and Courmayeur / Val Vény, in the Aoste Valley ski area.
It is also possible to buy a day or half day ski pass in each ski area. Each ski area is accessible by car, train or bus.

Ski Areas


All areas are accessible either by car, by train or via the shuttle bus, which is free with your Cham’Ski or Mont Blanc ski pass or with a Carte d’Hôte.

Large Ski Areas

Le Brévent La Flégère 1095m – 2525m Near to the centre of Chamonix, Le Brevent is a large area with pistes of all levels. The area of La Flégère is accessed from Les Praz and is linked by cable car to Le Brévent. It offers great off piste opportunities for powder lovers.

Lognan/Les Grands Montets 1230m - 3300m The legendary region of les Grands Montets offers a variety of pistes on 3 slopes : le Glacier d’Argentière, Lognan and Pendant. Snow cover is assured on the homeward bound piste thanks to snow canons.
The Balme ski area 1480m - 2230m A wonderful area for beginners and experts alike, the Balme is also particularly suited to family skiing. The domain is accessed via the villages of Le Tour and Vallorcine, and also offers a variety of gentle slopes, forest pistes, and some great off piste through the trees.

Smaller Ski-Areas

Les Chosalets 1230m Found at the entrance to the resort of Argentière. This region is ideal for beginners and children.
Les Pelerins 1110m – 1183m Between Chamonix and the village of Bossons, this area is ideal for beginners and children. There is also a toboggan track.
Les Planards 1062m – 1242m This area, offers varied pistes to satisfy all skiers. Good snow coverage is guaranteed by 33 snow cannons.
Le Savoy 1049m – 1125m The pistes of le Savoy, which are in the centre of the town, are great for beginners and children, and feature artificial snow and a children’s snow playground.
La Vormaine 1480m This area, found in the village of Tour, is an ideal place to learn Snowboarding or skiing, and is a great place for children due to its easy pistes and snow playground.


Other Ski Areas

Aiguille du Midi The famous Vallée Blanche with its 20km run over the glacier is easiest to reach from l’Aguille du Midi. For the more adventurous, there are 4 challenging off-piste runs to try. There are a further 2 off piste runs from the mid-station. You are strongly advised only to attempt the Vallée Blanche with an experienced guide.
Les Houches The village of Les Houches spreads over pastures and forests, and offers stunning 360° views over the Mont-Blanc range. It is ideal for beginners and intermediates, whilst still being great fun for more skilled skiers.
Courmayeur Just the other side of the Mont Blanc Tunnel, this ski area has possibilities for skiers of all abilities, with 26 pistes on two sides of the mountain, one side of which is entirely in the trees. New this year, the MONT-BLANC Unlimited pass includes all the lifts in Courmayeur.

Compagnie du Mont Blanc

  • There is now unlimited access to ski in Courmayeur, with the Mont Blanc Unlimited ski pass.
  • From spring, the Vallée Blanche will be accessible from Italy, thanks to the opening of the Panoramic Mont-Blanc, which will link the Aiguille du Midi with Helbronner.
  • The Grands Montets ski area will be open from 8.30 am instead of 9am.
