Two of Chamonix's main attractions in one day. The Aiguille du Midi
cable car, one of the highest in the world at 3842m. From here the
famous 20km Valḷe Blanche off-piste route to Chamonix. The day
begins with the cable car to the top of the Aiguille du Midi, which
is an experience in itself. The main route down the Valḷe Blanche
can be undertaken by competent, intermediate skiers. It's essential
that you take a qualified guide as you±ll be skiing on glaciers
throughout the day. An awe inspiring ridge walk takes you to the
start of the descent on the glacier de g̣ant. The day is a mix of
staggering glacial scenery and incredible views so don±t forget
your camera. After lunch descend on to the Mer de Glace, snow permitting
you can ski back to Les Planards. Save some energy as you have a
15 minute walk up hill before the final descant. Alternatively,
the Mer de Glace gondola and a return trip on the Montenvers train
will take you back to Chamonix. the Valḷe Blance is an experience
not miss!
