RUN OF THE DAY

Variante hotel
From the top of the Herse chair lift you get an excellent long descent all the way to the bottom station. This run can be quite a challenge because although it is marked and patrolled it is not always pisted. Half way down this run is le chalet refuge, a good place for lunch as it is not as frequently visited as the other main restaurants. After lunch you have a good length descent some of it through the trees to argentiere. It is always good to do this run during the day as it is quieter.

RESTAURANT OF THE DAY

Le Chalet Refuge
Ideally located by the hotel variante piste making it quieter than the other main restaurants. It is a rustic refuge offering a warm welcome, good service and a traditional atmosphere. From here you can get excellent views of the seracs.

VIEW OF THE DAY

You cannot beat the view from the top of les Grands Montets. It is worth making the effort to go up to the top even if you do not want to ski down. Walk up the steps to the viewing platform, which has maps of the mountains, glaciers and their names. The vista is incredible.
