The Kandahar
Men’s World Cup Downhill & Combined Events. Created
in 1928, the Arlberg Kandahar was the first international competition
to combine the 2 disciplines of downhill and slalom. The legendary
‘Verte’ piste is 3,343m long with an 870m vertical
drop. The best skieurs in the world launch themselves down it
in 2 minutes. The downhill takes place on the 4th February with
the Super Combined (downhill and slalom) the 5th February. |

Run & Skate in
Chamonix
A competition which combines the two endurance disciplines of
trail running and cross-country skiing (12km of running followed
by 18km of cross-country skating). The main attraction: half-way
through the competition, participants change their running shoes
for cross-country skating equipment, while the clock keeps ticking.

Cosmo Jazz Festival
For the 3rd year running Chamonix will be dancing to the sounds
of rhythm in the mountains. During the day there are concerts
at various mountain spots, and in the evening wonderful sounds
pervade the streets of Chamonix to liven up thise hazy summer
